The window has 3 horizontal panes which open to the outside with the use of the crank. If not you can adjust the position of the sash by slightly moving the hinge channel. Press down on the arm to free the bushing from the track and then push out the window until the bushing clears the track. Slide the bushing on the arm into the notch on the window track.

Open the window until the crank arm guide bushing aligns with the notch in the guide track use a locking pliers for a crank handle and push out on the window to help it open.
